How do we find surface area & lateral area of prism and cylinder

to find the surface area and the later area of both a cylinder and a prism we nee to know a few formulas:
  • LA= ph [lateral area]
  • SA= LA+2B (only for prisms and cylinders) [surface area]
these are examples in which we can use these formulas:

the formula of the lateral area is used to help find the surface area. say we had acylinder with the radius of 2cm and the height of 3cm.
  1. we need to find the perimeter of the circle which is 2πr multiplied by the height which will make it 12π or 37.7cm
  2. then we πr2 * 2 which is 8π or 25.13cm
  3. now we multiply these two answers to give of the  surface area of the cylinder which is 947.401cm2

How do we do composition

to find that what is composition we first need to know the formula.
(f*g)(x)=f(g(x))
now that we know the formula it will be easy to answer the following question.
1.) given f(x) = 4x+6  and (g)x = (x^2+4)
  • we will start by writing 4x+6 but replace the x with x^2+4 like so 4(x^2+4)+6
  • disstribute the 4 in the beginning within the parentheses.
  • we will get 4x^2+16+6 , then 16+6=22
  • the answer will be 4x^2+22
2.) now try on your own  given f(x) = 2x+9 and (g)x = (x^2+7)

How do we use the properties of trapezoids

Trapezoids : Exactly one pair of parallel side
Trapezoid Consecutive Angles Conjecture: the consecutive angle between the bases of a trapezoid

How do we use a polygon's exterior angles

to find the exterior of any angle we would have use the information given to use and if it is a regular shape.if the shape has all the interior angels then we know that all the exterior angles will be the same as well. then all we need to do is subtract 180 minus the interior angels to find the exterior angels.

we subtract 135 from 180 to give us 45

when we add up all the exterior angel we find that the sum is 360

How do we use the properties of parallelogram

Parallelogram: A quadrilateral with two pairs of Parallel sides

Properties:
  1. The opposite angel are congruent.
  2. Consecutive angels are supplementary.
  3.  Opposite sides are congruent.
  4. Diagonals bisect each other.
Its never true that the diagonal always congruent
Its never true that the diagonal s are always perpendicular
Its never true that the diagonal always bisects the angel

How do we prove triangle congruent

To prove that triangles are congruent is every easy in many math problems we are always give one or two congruent angles or one or two congruent sides.

Like the two on the top.
with the marking that are given to use its easier to prove that they are congruent.
we can use:
  • SSS (Side Side Side)
  • SAS (Side Angel Side)
  • ASA (Angel Side Angel)
  • AAS (Angel Angel Side)
Reason why SSS,SAS,ASA,AAS< and HL work

Say we are given
we will need a T-Chart like this one
As you can see line AC≌EC and BC≌DC are both given <ACB≌<EDC is also given but we need to prove it by saying something that will prove it like they are Vertical Angels.Using Side Angel Side we figured out that the two triangles are congruent.
